During my undergraduate studies I crashed on my first course in evolution; and it was love at first sight! Since then, a fascinating journey on genetics and science in general has started, and driven me to Italy, France and lately, Serbia. I was fortunate to experience fieldwork while conducting my master thesis and discover a whole different world apart of the lab: the one of the nature. The study was in the framework of the POL-AEGIS project where potential impact of the electromagnetic radiation (EMR) emitted by mobile telecommunication antennas on the pollinators was investigated. Now in the frame of my PhD thesis, my work focuses on the hoverfly genus, Eumerus (Diptera: Syrphidae) in the Balkans: genus taxonomy phylogenesis and phylogeography, spatial population genetics and biodiversity conservation.
I am a curious person by nature, always seeking to answer questions. I adore theater, literature and I cannot live without travelling.
